2023년 7월 6일, 성균관대학교 국제협력융합바이오연구소와 브레인링크 사업단(MEAS)이 미국 캘리포니아공과대학 Wei Gao 교수 초청세미나를 공동으로 개최하였다.
Wei Gao 교수는 캘리포니아공과대학(Caltech) Medical Engineering 학과 교수로, 현재 Science Advances, npc Flexible Electronics, Sensors & Diagnosis 그리고 IEEE Journal on Flexible Electronics의 에디터로 활동하고 있다.
“Skin-Interfaced Wearable Biosensors”라는 주제로 진행된 본 세미나에는 교내 60여명 이상의 연구원들이 참석하여 본 강연에 대한 심도깊은 질문과 토론으로 열정적인 모습을 보였다.
국제협력융합바이오연구소 김동환 연구소장과 Wei Gao 교수의 활발한 교류를 바탕으로, 2022년 9월부터는 본 연구소의 염정희 박사가, 2023년 4월부터는 선우성혁 박사가 미국 현지로 파견되어 국제 공동연구를 진행중이다.
국제협력융합바이오연구소는 향후 Wei Gao 교수와 지속적인 연구 교류를 통해 세미나 개최 및 연구자 파견 등을 이어갈 계획이다.
On July 6, 2023, Precision Biology Research Center and the Brainlink Research Group(MEAS) at SKKU jointly hosted a seminar featuring Professor Wei GAO from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech).
Professor Wei Gao is an Assistant Professor of the Medical Engineering, Ronald and JoAnne Willens Scholar, and Heritage Medical Research Institute Investigator in Division of Engineering and Applied Science at Caltech. He is also an Editor of Science Advances, npj Flexible Electronics, Sensors & Diagnosis, and IEEE Journal on Flexible Electronics.
The seminar, titled “Skin-Interfaced Wearable Biosensors,” was attended by over 60 researchers from the university, who actively participated in in-depth questioning and discussion, demonstrating their enthusiasm for the lecture.
Building on the active exchange between Professor Wei Gao and Director Kim Dong-hwan of PBRC, Dr. Yeom and Dr. Sunwoo are currently dispatched to Caltech to engage in collaborative research.
PBRC plans to continue organizing seminars and dispatching researchers through ongoing research exchanges with Professor Wei Gao in the future.
